An idea in development is a thrilling and engaging learning and theatrical event that draws on the ritual dance and music of Native Americans and other old cultures. Students of all ages will experience the passion of music and dance that was not created for entertainment, but to communicate with the universe. Through drumming and dance, students will experience the magic of discipline. They will understand the importance and power of ethnic music. Students and teachers alike will be challenged to consider this question: “What do contemporary cultures do now that serves the same purpose?” After the workshop sessions, students will attend the professional production that combines music, dance and cultural beliefs in a powerful and moving performance.
